Pilot Sam

Image
Sam loves Justin's patches. He was playing with them as usual when Justin acknowledged that Sam's footie pajamas resemble his pilot uniform quite well. He put on all the right patches for Sam's pilot uniform. Made for some fun pictures! Sam has become quite fond of his father. He gives him the big smile as usual, but now reaches out for him and gives him wonderful hugs! He is such a loving boy. I am not looking forward to his reaction to Justin's 12 hour days and our leaving Justin for a week. It might be a little rough on us all. :) Justin hits the flight line, next Wednesday - the 12 hour plus days will pick up again, ready or not here we go!

The Park - 11 month old fun

Image
Going to the park with Sam has always been enjoyable, but lately it has become a lot more fun! Sam is a thrill seeker for sure! He loves going down the slide head first! Sam screams when we walk away from the swing - He loves swinging! He loves when we peep through the different holes Yes, he is crawling right to the slide, letting himself down head first

What plane is Justin going to fly next?

The week before Track Select we were pleasantly surprised with a visit from the Schmidts! It was so fun having them in our home. We were able to take them on a short driving tour of the base, give them a chance to fly in a T-6 simulator, and visit the Cherokee Museum. It was a great way to relax and have fun before the next phase of pilot training came I again did not take many pictures, but here is what I have. Richard and Justin were able to go see a T-6, T-1 and T-38 up close. It was rather cold and so Sam and I, later joined by Jo, went to the car. We had a jam out session and Sam got to play with all the buttons and knobs. We are so blessed to have such supportive family. We love getting to see them whenever we can!  The Schmidts were here from Thursday night to Sunday. The Day: Monday, February 11, 2013 Track select was a day full day of fun events. The Instructor Pilot's and their spouses provided us with breakfast. We had a chance to take pictures by the T...

January fun

These are a few happenings in January. Our little man Sam has me running most of the day! Justin watched Sam for an afternoon and this is what I came home to. He has two top teeth now! Sam loves getting a ride on his horse around the house

An update on Sam & Christmas Preparations

Image
Sam is sure growing and changing fast. And yep, I'm saying it again, he is that much more fun! Just a week after he learned to crawl (end of November) he was pulling himself up in his crib, but did not know how to get back down. Ha ha, it was quite a stressful and frustrating thing for both of us. But props to him, he did learn pretty darn quick how to get back down. Sam practicing his new skill of pulling himself up I thought it would be fun to take pictures of Sam in a Santa hat. He doesn't keep a hat on very long. But I did get a good picture that ended up on our Christmas card. :) He has loved a Santa door knob hanger and laughs when I jiggle it and say, "HO, HO, HO, Merry Christmas" in a low voice. He definitely has the Christmas spirit!

Thanksgiving

Image
I did an absolutely lame job in capturing our thanksgiving fun. The pictures I do have are of two or three days before Thanksgiving when Melanie and I made the pies. And yet I still did not get pictures of us in them. Here are the pies -- Pecan and Apple. They turned out great! Thanksgiving away from family was bitter sweet. It was a shock to have to plan and cook our own Thanksgiving feast, but lots of fun to share traditions and be with friends - The Zambranos. Our Thanksgiving went as follows: Morning - football game 9-11am Snacked on pigs in a blanket around noon Gathered for dinner at 5pm at the Zambrano's place - all in attendance were: Josh, Melanie, their friends (forgot their names) , KC, her mom, Parker, Justin, me and Sam. Played Catch Phrase We also hit "Enid Lights" Friday or Saturday night with the Zambranos and their friends. There was so much good food and fun people! It was fun to bring each of our traditions together and make a Thank...

November visit to Utah! Sam had a great time getting to know family again, even if he did miss out on much needed naps. We went back to be there for when my Grandpa Jess received his endowments in the Logan Temple. What a neat day it was!
