Christmas was so magical!

Magical because all our kiddos believe in Santa and because they felt the wonder and excitement that comes when you give a gift. Where Sam is already questioning and pretty good at figuring things out, we're afraid he might not make it to next year still believing -- oh how I sure hope he still believes.

The night before Christmas Eve (Sunday) we ran to Dollar General for our family exchange gifts. I helped Sam shop for Dad and Justin helped Nora shop for me. It was so fun. I loved that due to our great procrastination it was kept real simple.

Christmas Eve started with church and what a great way to begin the Christmas celebration focusing on the reason for the season.


We did take time to make some sugar cookies for Santa. Not a real great picture of the kiddos but it was fun. I love the notes Sam leaves for Santa. He drew a map for Santa this year.



We had naps and dinner and then settled down for our Christmas Eve together. We turned off all the lights except the Christmas lights. We sang songs and then Justin read Luke 2. After that we exchanged our family gifts. The kids were excited to watch the person receiving their gift open it - the real joy of Christmas -- giving. I absolutely loved seeing this. Sam got for Dad what Dad got for Sam, a remote control car, ha. I got Nora play dough toys and dolls and she got me some cute flowery shoes.   
 


I did a pee poor job capturing Christmas with pictures. We have more videos. But I don't think I could've captured the feelings we felt. It was simply perfect!

Christmas morning was exciting and fun but I have to say Christmas Eve was my personal favorite. Not a lot of pictures of Christmas morning either.

It's Friday night of Spring Break and we are sitting in the Engineering lab ...... Justin watching March Madness and me blogging.  Some people may think it's a little on the boring side, but I have to say we are both quite enjoying ourselves.  As Spring Break approached we were under the impression that we just might be welcoming our baby boy sooner than later. On March 6th, I was dilated to a 2 and 70% effaced..... the Dr said he could be here in 2-3 days or 2 weeks. Justin and I had a couple of sleepless nights after hearing this. Happy Halloween

Thanks to the Schmidt pumpkin patch  I have several cute little pumpkins I've always wanted and thanks to the Daniels party for the cute carved pumpkins that really set the Halloween tone! The Schmidt Sisters!  October 23rd we had the annual Grandpa Jess Birthday Party get together! I felt like it had been forever since the Daniels family had been together.  Not enough catching up happened for me, but it was sure fun to be around family and carve pumpkins. It helped me start to get into the Halloween spirit. Bummer that I did not take pictures at the party. But these pumpkins made me smile each day I saw them on our porch. Halloween was so much fun when you were a kid, but as I have aged the holiday has lost it's excitement. For Halloween this year we happened to be in Salt Lake with the Schmidts. The Park - 11 month old fun

Going to the park with Sam has always been enjoyable, but lately it has become a lot more fun! Sam is a thrill seeker for sure! He loves going down the slide head first!
