Trier

We set out to hit up the Homburg Flea Market. Little did we know there are like 5 Homburgs in Germany spelled different ways. We got headed in the wrong direction, but it was toward Trier. We bagged the flea market and continued on our way to check out Trier -- an hour drive. It turned out nice. When you go with no expectations, there are none to be disappointed. Plus Trier is pretty darn awesome. It's a city from the Roman times with much of the city's wall remaining. Now it was fun and yes we are smiling in all the photos, but don't let that fool you. We were still getting used to traveling as a family/dealing with the adjustment. We had a bit of a melt down. I decided that if we don't travel anywhere I would be okay with that, in other words I acknowledged the pressure to travel. Justin being gone a lot expressed that he would be happy to stay home sometimes and we also came to the realization that we don't just want to check things off a list. We want to go

Jacob & Kaitlin's Wedding

At this time I was really feeling homesick. I knew moving to a foreign country would be hard, but it was harder than I expected and I was especially sad to miss out on my brother's wedding. But after getting here and finally getting over jet lag, finding a house and everything else that came with the move we just couldn't see how traveling back would be possible, especially for Sam who finally got another home after being 'homeless' for over 2.5 months. It was still hard to miss out on such a wonderful family event -- really got to me. But it looks as if all went so well and beautiful! We are so excited to have Kaitlin become part of our family! Lots of fun times to come. All the family together -- aw, we'll be there next time I swear! I love them all so much!  Craig was on his mission and so missed out on the event too.                                                 What a beautiful couple! I sure love them!

Our 4th Anniversary in Brussels, Belgium

Sounds exciting right? Ha,  I learned after this trip that I am not much of a trip planner. :) Maybe after 3 years of being here in Germany I'll become a pro travel agent, but it is not my forte. What I did well -- to help me feel better :) figured we should leave early enough to find dinner and get settled before dark scheduled a bike tour - which was the highlight of our trip The car was stalked with entertainment for Sam found a good midway stop park in Luxembourg -- but should have planned more time to check out Luxembourg  What I will do differently-- plan B for late departure -- which of course we left late look up the background on where we are going -- especially what language is spoken there - oops -- we were listening to conversations trying to figure out what language they were speaking. Lol Don't go too cheap on hotel, eh forget it, just have Justin book it :) For an anniversary -- arrange for babysitting-- which I would have done had Sam felt comfortabl
